Why create an Scholarship Program?

“Employee engagement is like gardening: If conditions are favorable, things flourish and become more productive. You can create a supportive culture that fosters higher levels of engagement and all the additional benefits that it brings.”

– Paycom’s What Employees Want:Overlooked Insights in Employee Engagement

“The U.S. Department of Education’s National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) analyzes employee earnings data biennially according to education level. These findings indicate that workers with college degrees earn significantly more than those without; they also emphasize how lower education levels tend to correspond with higher unemployment rates. In 2015, adults with bachelor’s degrees took home more than those with high school diplomas. Degree holders earned $48,500 a year, while diploma holders earned $23,900.

Over the past two decades, while college-educated workers’ wages have increased, annual salaries for those with only a high school education have decreased.” -Study.com

Investing in our community has an enormous impact on their future as a family unit. Providing meaningful personal and professional development and growth opportunities will have a direct positive effect on families. Not to mention how that will boost job productivity, happiness and wellness.

Scholarships fosters a sense of community and shows that you care for their well-being and the future success of their family. Scholarships can be used for post-secondary education, primary education, continuing education and Adult Basic Education.

Some Country Club staff members may have not graduated from High School, or may use English as their second Language. Desert Scholarship Foundation finds local resources and will structure a continuing education scholarship program so the Club staff and their spouses can get help to earn their high school diploma, obtain their GED and learn English.
