Desert Scholarship Foundation

Build a Better Tomorrow

Unmatched Gratitude.

I wanted to extend a special thank you for all your efforts to continue the funding of the Arnold Palmer Scholarship Fund. I was told that you recently conducted a very successful fundraiser to help grant more scholarships. What impresses me the most is that you continue to go above and beyond for the students of the scholarship even when you are not obligated to. I believe it is a true testament to who you are as a person, you are willing to help others without expecting anything in return. I am not sure if you are a religious man, but there is a bible verse that essentially says, “freely ye have received, freely give”. This was a teaching to us that we must give freely of ourselves, and you have continued to do just that.

This scholarship has had a profound impact on my life and in the lives of my brothers as well. I graduated from Brigham Young University-Idaho just this last week and I have accepted a job with an accounting firm in Las Vegas. The scholarship awards that I received allowed me to focus on my studies without the stress of student loans.

My brother Nick graduated a few months ago from the same school as well, he is now living in Orem, Utah and works at a public accounting firm as an audit associate. He and his wife just welcomed a baby boy into their family.

My brother Cameron graduated from Brigham Young University two years ago, he lives in Palm Desert and is the first assistant to the superintendent at Morningside Golf Club. He and his wife are new parents with a 5-month-old baby girl.

Each of us have been given the opportunity to succeed because of the help from the scholarship. The work that you do really does change the lives of the recipients. On behalf of all the scholarship award recipients from Tradition’s Arnold Palmer Education Fund, thank you for your continued support and efforts to help prepare us for success.

Sincerely,

Jared Broadhead
